5G Dual-Sim Smartphones Could Arrive in 2020

It is no longer news that network providers, as well as smartphone brands, are starting to adopt the 5G network, which has been the biggest hit for the tech industry so far

According to MediaTek, a Taiwanese company that produces chips for smartphones, computers, navigation systems, dual-SIM 5G smartphones are to be expected to be out early next year. This idea is by the company’s new Dimensity 5G system-on-chip (SoC) called “Dimensity 1000”.

To the company, the chipset is the first SoC which is capable of supporting 5G on dual-SIM smartphones. The company claims that the users will be able to enjoy the unlimited speed with the new invention. This chipset will also achieve a downstream speed of up to 4.7Gbps, and upstream speeds of up to 2.5Gbps on sub-6GHz 5G networks.

However, no details were given by the company as regards the phones benefiting from the chip-set which might not find a place into flagship devices, including Samsung, Huawei, Google, e.t.c– because it is not as supreme as Qualcomm, a semiconductor and telecommunications equipment company. The majority of the ideas and the best phones we see in the market today are typically powered by Qualcomm. However, MediaTek is not lowering its guards as it pushes hard in the same endeavor.
