While the new Operating System (OS) was initially announced at the company’s Big event that was held in Steve Jobs Thearter on the 10th of Septemeber 2019; it is finally available for users to utilize starting from yesterday, 7th of October.

MacOS Catalina is the company’s latest endeavour into the the desktop OS, and it is now available for Mac users via an automatic software update. The new software update as you would expect comes with a lot of new abilities and lineups of entertainment apps, some of which include Apple Arcade, a groundbreaking new game subscription service featuring new, exclusive games from some of the world’s most creative developers.

While there is more emphasis on entertainment in view of the latest update, “Catalina also features all-new Mac versions of Apple Music, Apple Podcasts and Apple TV apps.“. In addition to that, users will now have access to a new feature called Sidecar, packed with the ability to “extend Mac desktops with iPad as a second display, or tablet input device using Apple Pencil with Mac apps.”

Also, Voice Control, is another feature to watch out for, it comes with a transformative accessibility that allows Mac to be controlled entirely by voice. Whikle that’s not all about the MacOS Catalyst; the software update also brings a new technology that “makes it easy for third-party developers to bring iPad apps to Mac, users will begin to see their favorite iPad apps in Mac versions, including Twitter, TripIt, Post-It, GoodNotes and Jira, with more to come.”

For me the most interesting part of it all is that, Apple, for the very first time brings Screen Time to Mac, “giving users insight into how they spend time in apps and on websites, and the ability to decide how to spend their time.”

I haven’t tried out the new update myself, however, if you have already, please do well to drop a comment below, sharing with us what the new experience feels like.
