Apple Music’s Student Trial Period Has Been Doubled To Six Months

Apple Music is currently a paid-only subscription, although they do offer subscribers a free 3-month trial before requiring them to pay for it. However, the good news is that if you’re a student, then you’ll be pleased to learn that Apple has since doubled the duration of the free trial period.

This means that students will now be able to enjoy a free 6-month subscription which is actually a pretty damn long time if you think about it. Following that, students will be required to continue paying for the service, although at a discounted rate of $4.99 a month which is about half of what Apple requires “normal” users to pay.

Unfortunately, this new trial is only applicable to new subscribers. If you have yet to sign up for an Apple Music subscription, all you’ll need is an active student email and you will also need to sign up for it through UNiDAYS. For those who have already subscribed or have already used their free trial, it seems that you’re out of luck, although if you’re still a student you can still take advantage of the $4.99 monthly subscription.

Apple Music is currently doing pretty well for itself. Back in June, Apple had recently confirmed that the music streaming service was now home to at least 60 million subscribers.
