Boeing Partners With Porsche To Make Am Electric Flying Car

Two luxury brands- Boeing and Porsche are reportedly teaming up to come up with a concept that will see the development of an electric vehicle capable of vertical takeoff and landing (VTOL). This otherwise means that both companies may be working on a “flying car.”

While the collaboration is ongoing, the duo will come up with a prototype based on the design they agree upon, although while there is a high tendency that the car will be build to look like the Porsche brand, it will most likely be a premium VTOL model regardless.

Also, as part of their agreement, the duo will also look into urban air mobility in its generality rather than focusing on the development of the vehicle alone. On that note, Porsche made claims that they will create an international team in compliance with their memorandum of understanding the design.

As per of its function, the team organized by Porsche will also address the various aspects of urban air mobility, as well as investigate the market potential for and possible use cases of premium flying vehicles.

“This collaboration builds on our efforts to develop a safe and efficient new mobility ecosystem, and provides an opportunity to investigate the development of a premium urban air mobility vehicle with a leading automotive brand,” Boeing VP Steve Nordlund said in a statement.

If the partnership yields to a par adventure success, then Boeing will be competing with perpetual rival Airbus SE, which already started testing its own VTOL vehicle last year.
