A candid review of MTN Music+, Bloom Player and Spotify

review of MTN Music+ Bloom Player Spotify

Music is psychological. It goes beyond the arrangement of harmonic rhythms to a mental recreation of reality, which helps you create a different perspective about identity and communication.

Music will always remain a beautiful escape from sad realities, and also an expression of beautiful memories. In the present digital world, you don’t have to always download or buy CD’s of every recent track or album from your favourite artist to enjoy the exact listening pleasure you get from their tracks.

You do not have to buy or own an Mp 3 device no matter how attractive or handy it is, when you can stream these songs using data friendly Apps on your mobile device.

MTN Music+ is a music App designed by telecommunication service provider MTN. This App has over 100,000 downloads on Google App Store, which is a pretty impressive number, because this App has done excellently well in  terms of addressing the Nigerian Music lovers market. Kudos to MTN on that!

Now, because this App is designed by MTN does not mean other network users cannot use the music streaming App.  I do not have an MTN sim, but I have been able to login via Facebook to enjoy the 30 days free access the App offers to me to enjoy the finest of Nigerian Music uploaded on its platform.

Signing Up helps you stream Music both Offline and Online.  The experience on the App is not different from that of a modern music player. The album art automatically pulls up for the display, while the tune plays on. Unlike most downloading sites where you get tunes and no visuals, this App combines both visuals and tune, which is an excellent move by its developers.

Above the cover art are buttons to add a song that pricks your interest to your playlist, add to your favourite list, download and more feature buttons that lets you set a song you like, as your MTN callertunez (this is a feature exclusive to MTN users).

You are free to pick from different subscription plans. You could opt for the cheapest data plan, which is as low as N 30 or the highest priced data plan of N 800, which all guarantee you access to music streaming for your pleasure.

Bloom Player is another awesome music streaming and downloading App. This App became very popular, because it is  preloaded on most Tecno Smartphones. While this App gives you the right to download some musical contents free, you could also download paid for songs, with Boom coins.

Users can get this coins converted, using recharge card, phone credit,  or Paga (Nigeria).  Unlike, MTN Music + users do not need any special subscription plan to use this App, because all you need is good connectivity and Boom coins and that solves it.

Did I just forget that Boom player gives a lot freebies to its users? Well, with this App there is a lot of freebies. There is a coupon section and a raffle section that gives you free coins to get your favourite songs for your listening pleasure.

There is also a combination of Visuals and tune on this App. Offline downloaded tracks have all elements they have when a listener streams it on the App.

Your songs are not only saved on the App, they are also saved directly on your device. This App also does a lot of musical count-downs just like MTN Music+, which helps you cool your nerves with the Nigerian spirit in you, without any form contrast.

So, if you want to have a Nigerian hit banging palour party today, these Apps could help you fix the musical section of the party without any hassle. All you need is to get on with other planning activities.

Unlike the other two Apps, Spotify is not Nigerian focused when the music content is considered. Spotify may not just generally pass for a music streaming App, like every other App with a monthly fee.

Well, what spells this App out is this, it has a podcast feature included to it, and the App also has a feature that matches music to your running pace. So, when you go out for a run, Spotify gives you the high tempo beats you need as you increase your pace.

Unlike other Apps mentioned above, I personally love Spotify  because it has built a strong community of users with thousands of unique playlists I can stream with ease.

The social features of this App, lets you connect your Facebook account to it, follow your friends like you would do on twitter or Instagram, and a really cool move that lets you  share playlists directly with them on the App.

My candid review is this, if you love music own one of these Apps it saves you the stress of having an external device to help you stream your special playlist either on the Nigerian Playlist or International Playlist.

Right now, I am stuck in the most horrific Lagos traffic I have seen in a while, but I am sane streaming Adekunle Gold’s Ire on Boom Player.
