For those shopping about for new gaming laptops, Lenovo has just announced its Legion Y740 at the ongoing CES. This is the company’s latest gaming laptop which is being offered in 15-inch and 17-inch versions. Apart from the difference in display size, the rest of the specs are pretty much identical.
This includes the use of Intel’s 8th generation Core i5-8300H processor, or it can also be configured with the i7-8750H processor. It will also support up to 32GB of RAM if you need, but there is also the option for an 8GB + 8GB 3200MHz Corsair overclocked memory. It also comes with Dolby designed speakers and Dolby Atmos Sound System, where the 17-inch model will actually come with a sub-woofer built into it.
However, Lenovo did not state which GPUs the laptops will be using, but they will likely come with NVIDIA. Both laptops regardless of display size will also come with a display resolution of 1920 x 1080, with the option for Dolby Vision HDR or NVIDIA’s G-Sync technology.
If overheating is a concern of yours, especially when it comes to more intensive tasks, the laptops will use Lenovo’s Coldfront dual fan thermal layout that should help with that. As for pricing, the 15-inch model will be priced starting at $1,749.99 (N638,000), while the 17-inch model will go for $1,979.99 (N722,000), with both models expected to be available in February.
