Facebook is about to actualize the dreams of Ubisoft Fans who have a long thirst for a VR Version of games like Assassin’s Creed and Splinter Cell
To actualize the dream, there is a need for Facebook to Acquire certain Rights before venturing into such a business. At that, this will be a win-win situation for both Facebook and Ubisoft who is still running a stealth-orientated franchise for some of its games which include Splinter Cell.
As a matter of fact, it is quite a disappointing situation for some Fans of Ubisoft who are rather limited to only the stealth-oriented Splinter Cell franchise while lacking information or announcements regarding any future entries in the series. The last Splinter Cell game to release was Blacklist, which came out way back in 2013. Since then, fans haven’t had much to chew on; short of replaying older titles.
However, that could change in the future, If assuming Facebook is able to successfully create a VR version, then it will be an entirely different ball game for many fans across the globe. According to a new report from The Information. The outlet says Facebook has signed two deals for “exclusive” VR versions of both Assassin’s Creed and Splinter Cell; apparently, CEO Mark Zuckerberg himself has been “personally involved” in the negotiations. Unfortunately, we have no idea how these games will play, and Facebook itself probably doesn’t know yet either.
In other news, some people close to Facebook doesn’t think the company is only trying to be helpful to Ubisoft who seem will be greatly benefitting from the deal as well, but rather trying to “attract more people” to its VR headsets instead, either ways, it still remains a win-win situation for both companies involved.
For now, it all about prediction and assumptions, and whether the deal will come through is still not clear, so it not even certain if any of the two games will ever be featured on Facebook’s VR Headset, but only time will tell.
