Jon Snow is a true born of the Targaryen and it is not so hard to tell after all
All of the excitement that follows the anticipation of the season finale of the highly-controversial Game of Thrones is just the perfect trip everyone would have desired, having to wait for as long as two years just to know the fate of the Winterfell, Kings Landing, Westeros, Royal Palace Of Dorne, among others after the visit of the ‘Night Walkers’. Of course, the best guess is a tragic ending, however, we still have about six weeks of captivating episodes to tell if that will be true or not.
Airing in over 170 countries, the first episode of the season finale of the Game of Thrones debuted across the globe a few hours ago, and to ensure a great beginning for the ending, GOT unraveled a long-kept secret over the seven initial series of the action-packed adventure movie. Just like you have always thought (perhaps you a GOT fan); Jon Snow was never a Stark true born, but rather a Targaryen, the same as the Mother of Dragon, Daenerys Stormborn.
This revealing was first flashed towards the end of the season 7, when Jon Snow had its first encounter with the Dragons, however, giving it doubt, there was no fact to back it up at that point. Now, as the Finale season kicks off, the first episode reveals that Jon Snow isn’t illegitimate, he’s the descendant of a Targaryen king and the true heir to the Iron Throne of Westeros. (That’s if you discount the Baratheons’ takeover of the throne and the Lannisters’ subsequent rule.) Although last season, Sam and Bran pieced together the truth about Jon’s parents, Jon himself has had no clue and has been inadvertently engaging in incest by sleeping with Daenerys Targaryen, his aunt.
While it was extremely satisfying to hear Sam tell Jon the truth about his heritage, Jon’s immediate response to that truth raises some questions. His first reaction is to reject his right to rule, saying he gave up being a king when he bent the knee. As the good, law-abiding citizen he has always been, Jon considers it treason to think anything different.
The real gist now is that who is going to bend the knee to who- Will Jon Snow do to Daenerys Stormborn, or Vice versa, for now, the guess seems a lot complicated, but we will definitely get a ‘desired’ or ‘undesired’ answer before the end of the season finale. What could be a major concern in the immediate time is the current relationship between the duo, that also probably is not a big deal, but how does Jon balance his duty to the Seven Kingdoms with the duty he owes her, both as a loyal bannerman and a lover?
