how to confirm if your Facebook account was hacked

Facebook confirmed that its system was hacked a few weeks ago, affecting over 29 million accounts of which yours could be one off

How then can you know if you are a victim of the hack and which of your data was leaked to the cyber criminals so that you can further protect it if possible change to something else entirely? For someone reading this article who suspects abnormal behavior of his or her Facebook account, or probably you just feel there is a need to know if you have been hacked or not, then the tips below will be a good guild for you.

Although, the firm says it is working with FBI already to check if any other service was affected or not and how deep the entire situation goes. However, until then it has also revealed that the team will be reaching out to those whose accounts were hacked. Facebook has said it will be messaging those users whose accounts were hacked and will tell them exactly what information was taken. Although that is yet to happen, you can still check if your account is affected or not and what information was stolen.
Here’s how you can check:

Step 1: Open Facebook on a desktop and visit the Facebook Help Centre (https://www.facebook.com/help/securitynotice) website.

Step 2: Scroll to the bottom of the page and see for the subtopic ‘Is my Facebook account impacted by the security issue?’

Note; If your account was hacked, below the subtopic it will be stated, “Yes. Based on what we’ve learned so far in our investigation, attackers accessed the following Facebook account information” followed by texts like ‘Name’, ‘Email addresses’, ‘Phone Number’ and more. It also mentions the information attackers did not steal from the account.

If perhaps your account was fortunate enough to escape the sight of the hacker, you will not have any of the states present.

i will try and see, because the news was widely spread & so many people started sending messages to friends that they shouldn’t accept any requests that the account has been hacked

Imagine! People are running businesses successfully on IG and twitter with their accounts. But here is Facebook, slowly losing credibility.
