Huawei’s alternative for Android could be called ‘Ark OS’

It is no longer news that the Chinese mobile giant is currently working on its own homegrown OS, but what is yet to be known is the name for the software

Following the US Government order on May 20, Google was made to revoke its Android licenses for the Huawei brand, and ever since then, the company has been on the mission of finding an alternative for the OS under the US franchise. Although it seems like Huawei have had it all planned already, hinting of its own homegrown OS that has been in the work for a long time now, as far back as 2015, however, that is not the news here.

While we are aware that the company is working on its own OS, we are yet to know what name the tech giant will be giving it. But that may no longer be the case. We’ve learned that Huawei’s own OS will likely be called ‘Ark OS’ from a reliable source- It told that the information comes from a reported trademark request by Huawei to the EUIPO (European Union Intellectual Property Office) for HUAWEI ARK OS, HUAWEI ARK, ARK, and ARK OS, made on May 24.

Also, there is no statement yet about the current situation of the Ark OS, but it is assumed to have almost reached the completion stage, especially when the company teased it for the consecutive flagships.

In addition to what has been said, Huawei was also reported to be having discussion with Aptoid, an App managing company, which may eventually be a replacement for the Google Play Store on Huawei devices. For now, that is all we can tell about the situational report for

Well, I’m happy that Huawei had a good foresight knowing what could actually happened and made plans to combat the situation before it could cripple their business.
Looking forward to seeing what the “Ark OS” would offer. But, no matter what, it’s good to be independent, to be free.
