Google released the Android 9 Pie update a few months ago, however, it is still not available for compatible devices from many major phone makers. For example, Samsung recently just opened up the beta program but still won’t release Pie for its devices until January 2019. Now, according to new reports, it appears that LG has got the ball rolling as the LG G7 One is the company’s first smartphone to receive the Android 9 Pie update.
The reports claim that the company has started rolling out the Android 9 Pie update for the LG G7 One. The update is said to weigh in at just over 820MB which is understandable since it is a major Android update. The changelog mentions that it improves camera functionality in addition to bumping up the core Android OS to version 9.0. It also includes the latest security patch for the month of November 2018.
The LG G7 One is the company’s Android One device and it is guaranteed to receive swift updates by virtue of its membership of the Android One program. Those who own the device will certainly be pleased that they too can now get a taste of Pie on their devices. Android Pie brings a wide variety of new improvements to compatible devices, including but not limited to a refreshed user interface.
