Microsoft has quietly killed off an upcoming Windows 10 feature

0

A couple of years ago, Microsoft announced a new feature that would be making its way to Windows 10. The feature was known as Sets, which for those who are hearing about it for the first time, would basically allow users to group app data, websites and other information within tabs to make them easier to view and access.

It sounds like it could potentially be useful, but at the same time, if you’re a bit confused as to what it really does, you might not be alone. Well, according to a new report, it seems that Microsoft has killed off the feature. This is allegedly due to poor feedback the feature received during the tests they carried out, where it seemed like the feature was never quite fully understood.

Microsoft has since stopped testing the feature in future Windows Insider test builds and has now confirmed that the Shell-provided tab experience is no more. This is probably the closest we’ll get to an official confirmation that the feature is no more. If you’re learning about this for the first time and weren’t part of the Insider testing, then we suppose it’s not a big deal as you wouldn’t have known what you could be potentially missing out on.
