Just a moment after the Microsoft’s LTE-equipped Surface Go was revealed, the company has now opened pre-orders for the device
If you are familiar with gadgets, then you will be able to tell that one thing that makes the older Surface Go really unworthy is the fact that it lacks an LTE advanced connectivity option, although, the issue has been addressed in an update that will be hitting the retail store any moment soon. However, the device is now open for pre-order and it is going to set you back as much as $679 (N246,714) which is quite cheaper than its predecessor that will cost you an extra $129(N46,872) as it sells for $799 (N290,316).
Microsoft has earlier revealed its cheaper alternative to the $799 (N290,316) Surface Pro back in July, in the form of the $399 Surface Go. The 2-in-1 laptop/tablet hybrid device has a weaker spec sheet than its more expensive cousin, but it’s also more portable and versatile – or so Microsoft would like you to think.
To be clear enough, you should not expect an ordinary LTE-equipped device, considering that it is going to house the same specs as the beefier $549 (N199,479)Go, which includes 8GB of RAM, 128GB of storage, and an Intel 4415Y processor. This puts the true “LTE fee” at around $130. Microsoft has not announced any plans to bring LTE to lower-specced Go models.
The company also has two other Surface Gos but claims that it is an exclusive product for business customers. It includes the $729 Surface Go with LTE Advanced for Business, which contains the same hardware as the consumer version, and an $829 (N301,217) device with an identical name. The latter’s storage capacity has been upgraded from 128GB to 256GB, but the specs appear otherwise unchanged.
If you want to further pre-order the LTE-equipped Surface Go, then you should proceed to AT&T, Sprint, or Verizon which are currently the only outlet that is ready for it sales. -T- Mobile and a few others are out of luck for now, but maybe when the device fully hit the market, they could have a similar opportunity. The device is reportedly available for pre-order at the moment, any further announcement will be passed across the moment it reaches us.
