The Microsoft Xbox One X is supposed to be one of the most powerful consoles available at the moment. It has the ability to play games in 4K, which is pretty impressive when you consider how much power rendering things in 4K consistently requires, but later this year, Microsoft’s next-gen Xbox will make the Xbox One X look downright silly.
At E3 2019, Microsoft detailed their upcoming next-gen Xbox, which at the moment is still being referred to as Project Scarlett. The exact hardware details of the console are unclear, but Microsoft does state on its website that the console will be using a custom-designed AMD processor, GDDR6 RAM and a next-gen SSD, all of which will make the console about four times more powerful than the Xbox One X.
The company is also boasting at how their next-gen console will be capable of playing games up to 120 fps, although whether or not this will be consistent remains to be seen, and if it might only be achievable via a lower resolution. The good news for gamers who are looking forward to the console is that the console is expected to be launched later in the year where more details such as pricing will be revealed as well.
