For those who never knew, OnePlus has never ventured outside the four walls of the smartphone market, though it came close to releasing a smartwatch. The company has made a name for itself in the past few years by releasing competitively priced devices that push above their weight in terms of specs and features. However, according to a recent report, it seems that is about to change as the company has confirmed that they are making a smart TV.
According to the company’s CEO, Pete Lau who confirmed the report on the company’s official forums said;
We want to bring the home environment to the next level of intelligent connectivity. To do this, we are building a new product of OnePlus’ premium flagship design, image quality and audio experience to more seamlessly connect the home – we call it OnePlus TV.
However, no other concrete details like how much it will cost, when and where it will launch were included in the announcement but the mention of “image quality and audio experience” indicates that this will be a sovereign smart TV.
