Redbox Launches A Free Streaming Service Called “Free Live TV”

Redbox, an American company who specializes in DVD, Blu-ray, and 4K UHD rentals via automated retail kiosks has debuted a free, ad-backed live TV service called “Free Live TV”

To have access to the service called Free Live TV, you do not need to sign in, all you need to do is to use Redbox’s website or mobile app to tune in. Note that people will eventually see the service on other platforms where the service is available. This includes smart TVs, Apple TV boxes and Roku players.

Free Live TV’s is a similar version to live TV services like Xumo. The service offers specific channels like Film Rise and The Pet Collective and for categories, we have Comedy, Epic Viral Videos, and Celebrity and Entertainment News.

For movie freaks, you can watch compilations of Steve Harvey’s best moments on Family Feud and listen to a gist from TMZ. In terms of content, it does not really have a lot of content.

Before Free Live TV, Redbox experimented with streaming with On Demand, an on-demand video service launched by the company in late 2017. It allowed users to make a one-time payment to rent or purchase movies and stream them instantly.
