Samsung launched the Gear S3 in 2016 and we all expected a successor to follow in 2017. However, that didn’t exactly happen as we all presumed instead, Samsung launched the Gear Sport. With that being said, the good news according to a new report states that 2018 could be the year of the Gear S4. Sounds good right?
According to the report, it seems that the Gear S4 is already in the pipelines and the model could come with more health features than its predecessor. The report states that Samsung are planning to improve the health and fitness features of the smartwatch e.g. an in-depth sleep tracking feature that will tell users how much sleep they require and so on. Although the report doesn’t state much about the upgrades, smartwatch enthusiast can still expect upgrades to its processor, maybe RAM, and also its battery life.
The Samsung Gear series to some extent has been well-received by many but despite what many had expected, Samsung choose to use their own smartphone platform instead of adopting Google’s Wear OS platform, formerly known as Android Wear.
However, there is still no word on when the Gear S4 will be announced, but rumours flying around says it could be announced alongside the Galaxy Note 9, which if the rumours are to be believed could be launched as early as this coming July.
