Uber Rolls Out A Test That Lets You Dial A Ride With No App Required

Ride-hailing service Uber has rolled out a feature that lets you call for a ride with the number 1-800 and interacting with human

To use the app, passengers have to call the number telling the human operator on the other end where they will be going to. They will also provide payment details if there is none on the file.

They will then be provided with details about the driver’s name, ETA, and their license plate number. Note that Uber does not charge for using the number and passengers can request any of the usual ride options, such as Uber Black or Uber Assist.

That is not all, the company started as a cab company that you can find on YouTube. If you have not tried it, it will sound awful to you. According to TechCrunch, the option was “designed with older adults in mind.

The test is currently running in Arizona, though Uber will probably expand it in case it proves useful.
