At a press parley organized by Vivo regional team in Nigeria, the Chinese-based mobile phone maker officially launches its latest flagship device- Vivo V17 Pro
The V17 Pro launch that was held today at Bon Hotel, Ikeja-Lagos saw the presence of the country manager, Felix Lu; Head of sales, Vivo Nigeria, Jack Ma; Head of finance, Vivo Nigeria, Fu Yulu; Marketing manager, Vivo Nigeria, Odunowo Tayo; Training manager, Vivo Nigeria, Grace Obaro alongside various media representatives who witnessed the launch of the new flagship device- Vivo V17 Pro which carries the theme- Redefine your selfies.
The new device marks the 5th mobile launch from the brand in the Nigeria market, succeeding the V15 device which was launched outside of Nigeria, and the likes of Y15, and Y17. According to Vivo Nigeria marketing manager, Odunowo Tayo– Vivo remains a global brand, and just like it does with most of its previous devices, the brand is introducing new technology with the V17 Pro.
Indeed, the V17 Pro comes with a lot of amazing specs including a first of its kind technology. For the very first time in the global mobile space, the V17 Pro hosts a dual pop-up camera to beat the regular single pop-up camera that is seen in other devices. However, that’s not the most interesting feature of the device. As for other specs– the device features an ultra full view display with an aspect ratio of 20:9 (while its dimensions stand at 159.0 x 74.70 x 9.80mm)– certainly, no notch to interrupt the display, hence the use of the term ‘truly uninterrupted’ by the phone maker.
Other features of the V17 Pro include a 48MP AI quad-camera that allows for the best camera experience; a Qualcomm Snapdragon 675AIE Octa-core; and a 4100mAh battery to power up the device which also allows the device to hold less weight at 201.8g.
Lest I forget, the device comes with an 8GB RAM and 128GB ROM which allows for smoothness with turbo speed. On that note, there is an in-built AI Turbo monitors system speed that is accountable for a reduction in the memory fragmentation lag by up to 200%, as well as improve the anti frame loss rate by 78%.
Other things to enjoy from the device, especially since its major focus is on the camera– also includes a ‘super night selfie’, ‘super macro’, ‘super night mode’, among others.
Answering to a question- ‘how Vivo would survive in the competitive market with the presence of Tecno, Infinix, e.t.c’, Tayo told that,”the V17 Pro is a flagship device, and while it is not advisable to bring into Nigeria mediocre product, the V17 Pro will be a stand-alone product in its own league“.
Not just that, Tayo went further to emphasize on the fact that the V17 Pro will not compete with other smartphone brands with respect to price, considering that “Vivo is offering a ‘quality that is priceless’, and it is the brand’s business to introduce Nigerians to innovation and not vice versa.” interested Nigerians will go for it anyway. The device will start at NGN129,000, and it is currently available for sale in selected retail outlets within Lagos.
