So CES is finally coming to a close with last day of the event scheduled for today
Just before the close of the four days tech-packed event, the popular open source Video Player, VLC, announced of a new development that sees the adding of support for Airplay; one of the two major milestones that the company has just reached. This new support will allow users to transmit videos from their iPhone (or Android) to their Apple TV. Isn’t that interesting? at least, it is for me.
The other one is another major milestone for the digital company; it’s closing in on 3 billion user downloads. That’s a lot of downloads, and you could argue that the Videolan team deserves the success they’ve seen so far. After all, it would seem as if the Videolan team has been keeping busy, following the addition of Chromecast support sometimes around February last year.
Just like with Chromecast, the company has decided to work hand in hand with Airplay on its platform. While there is no specific date for the release of the new product, one can easily assume that it is going to be scheduled for the fourth edition of the VLC app (VLC4) which is believed will be the next biggest thing for the digital company. Who else think that is the plan?
Well, once there is a hint on the release date, we would definitely share across in an update of this article.
