Vodacom Group is planning to launch another fintech startup service in South Africa
To further surprise its customers and be the best brand, Vodacom Group, is launching a super app that offers financial and lifestyle services to its millions of customers.
The super app will also allow customers in South Africa to shop online, send money, pay bills among other features.
The launching of the super app was disclosed via a statement released by the Vodacom Group.
To achieve this, the Group partnered with digital payment provider, Ant Financial Services who was formerly known as Alipay.
With this deal, Ant Financial Services will license its Alipay technology platform to the South Africa telecommunication.
It will also carry out operations as Vodacom Financial Services. There is however no report concerning the terms and offerings of this deal.
A statement from both parties indicated that the financial and lifestyle app will be launched early next year.
The only thing to be sure of is that its offerings will not only be beneficial to all subscribers, but small and medium enterprises are not exempted.
From the statement, financial services such as insurance and lending will be made available for these businesses.
Note that Alipay is a subsidiary company of a Chinese multinational tech company, Alibaba Group.
