YouTube has launched a new Live streaming feature on Google Chrome browsers. This feature allows users easily set up live streaming videos from their devices without considering any form of additional equipment or tool.
According to YouTube, this feature will be available on other browsers soon. YouTube says it will also allow live streaming directly from the camera app on devices like Asus, LG, Motorola, Nokia, Samsung, and more in the coming months. This an interesting updated feature on the App, because Apps like Facebook and Instagram have been open to this feature for some time now.
To access the new live streaming feature, users are expected to just go to the YouTube Live dashboard or click on the camera icon in the top header of the site and select “go live.” YouTube needs some basic information about you, before you can use its live streaming feature.
Your phone number is one basic information needed to verify if you are on good standings. Verification on the platform takes as long as a whole day, but when it is done, you can go live immediately.
The platform already has a live streaming feature, included both in its iOS and Android apps, but this update makes the process of live streaming on the App a lot faster than it is at the moment. This means YouTube has opened more portals to new-content creators on its platform.
Although there have been back and forth on the kind of contents that will be uploaded on the Platform, with its sudden openness to content creation,YouTube says that most creators have been testing its updated tool have been using it, for basic contents like: beauty tutorials, product reviews, and personal updates for their followers.
